In what what looks like a return to 3 bottles of 4 varieties Sam Adams latest seasonal Variety Pack is called Gameday Beers.

The four beers are Boston Lager, Sam 76, Bavarian Lager, and Cold Snap.

    Btw what happened to @NOAA_ALL_HAZARDS?

Little late in the season for something like this. Isn't "Gameday" typically an NFL thing?

Seen it on shelves already, just in time for college football bowl season, NFL playoffs, and presumably will be around for March Madness. No, seems like a good season for it to arrive.

I'm alright with this. I'm not a big fan of Cold Snap, but the Bavarian Lager interests me and I drink a lot of Boston Lager and Sam 76.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cold Snap anyway but I just tried the Bavarian Lager and I believe it is my new favorite! The creamy finish is AMAZING

Uh, I assume it's arriving in time for (a month prior to) the Super Bowl?

I was gonna pick it up just for the Bavarian Lager but I passed.

I'll pass, nothing remarkable that would motivate me to buy this.

No, definitely nothing remarkable. SA is usually solid, often mediocre, and almost never remarkable. I'm not going to buy any for myself, but if I have to get beer for a party (whether it involves a game of some form or not) that will have a bunch of non craft drinkers, for lack of a better term, then this would be perfect.

Meh. Boston Lager and Sam '76 are solid. Just cannot get too excited about this.

I'd like to try the Bavarian Lager, though I'm not sure that alone will compel me enough to purchase.

Agreed. Gameday I think College GameDay on ESPN which is college football, but Coldsnap is a winter beer, so they obviously are using the term gameday as generic.

I saw a six pack of Bavarian Lager on the shelf last night and considered it but a BA review compared it to fresh as helles so I passed.

I picked up a sixer and thought that it was really good and to me better than Fresh as Helles.

Pass for me, not buying a pack when 50% of the items I can already get on the shelf. One day it would be nice to see an end to the ever present push for folks to have to consume core beers we don't want.
    Cheers

I take it you avoided Sierra Nevada variety packs in the past (re: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale)?

    Cheers!

I have in the past year or two. I would always get packs then over the years I got tired of the core items sitting in the back of the fridge all the time so I stopped doing it. Only time I will do a pack now is say I am going to a party and I know other folks love the core stuff then I get them and everyone is happy. I would buy a heck of a lot more if they came in 6 packs of items I have not had all the time.

I think the marketing idea of this pack is genius (and kind of duh, how I didn't think of it before). I'm pretty sure that their sale actually spikes for game days
