beer, Beer Alert – New Barleywines, Brown Ales And Winter Seasonals!

Big beers and winter seasonals dominate our latest collection of new beers for 2018…And we’ve six intriguing craft beer directions that you might want to consider while you’re fending off the cold.

A Brown Nose (Ft Collins, CO) – We think darker beers in the winter, and Odell Brewing just released a new seasonal that gets that job done. Rich with dark malts that are brightened by citrusy hops, Odell Settle Down Brown is a 6.5% ABV Brown Ale with a complex malt backbone and a hoppy kick reminiscent of pineapple, coconut and pine.

Handle With Care (Birmingham, AL) – Alabama’s oldest and largest brewery Good People Brewing Co is now canning one of their most requested beers…so you’ve been warned. Good People Snake Handler is a 10% ABV Double IPA brewed with five specialty malts that balance out an aggressive menu of Columbus, Warrior, Cascade, Simcoe, and Chinook hops.

Holy Moses! (Cleveland, OH) – Another year, another new addition to Great Lake Brewing’s year-round portfolio. Named in honor of Cleveland founder Moses Cleaveland, Holy Moses White Ale is a 5.4% Wheat Ale nuanced by coriander, chamomile, and orange peel.

Brown Out (St Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer’s Cellar Selections Series is celebrating the new year with a new look and its first release of 2018. Fueled on the complex symmetry of raspberry and chipotle, Schlafly Raspberry Chipotle Brown Ale is a 5.4% ABV Brown Ale with a hoppiness kept in check by an earthy pepper malt backbone.beer, Beer Alert – New Barleywines, Brown Ales And Winter Seasonals!

Face Off (Durango, CO) – Ska Brewing is returning an award winner that took a Bronze Medal in the Wood-and-Barrel-Aged Strong Beer category at 2015’s Great American Beer Festival. Aged to perfection in Peach Street Colorado straight bourbon barrels, Ska Face is a massive 11.5% ABV Barleywine-style Ale with heavenly aromas of caramel, vanilla, bourbon and raisins and a silky charred wood finish.

Get Juiced Again (Bloomington, IN) – Upland Brewing is kicking off the year with a new Side Trail IPA Series release that was first introduced as a ‘draft-only’ offering in 2017. The first of five 4-pack 16oz cans releases planned for 2018, Upland Juiced In Time, is a 6.5% ABV New England-style IPA that’s absolutely dripping with ripe tropical fruit and bold juicy citrus flavors.
