Beer Brackets are back! Vote now for the Iowa beer you love most

Welcome back, beer lovers, to the Des Moines Register’s Beer Brackets, sponsored by the Iowa Taproom! It’s time again to vote for the Iowa brews you love most. 

New to Beer Brackets? It’s simple. 64 beers face off in the win-or-go-home, six-round tournament until one beer is crowned champion. The best part? You decide which beer wins. Voting takes place at DesMoinesRegister.com/BeerBrackets (pro tip: bookmark that link for daily voting). 

How to vote: Select the beer you want to see win in each matchup, click vote and head to the next matchup. Voting for the round of 64 ends March 7 at 8 a.m., launching the round of 32.

What’s new this year:

• Unlimited voting. Vote from as many devices as you’d like, as many times as you’d like. No registration is required to participate. Refresh your browser to cast a new ballot. 
• The regions. This year’s brackets are broken down into the four elements of beer: water, hops, malt and yeast. 
• Beer Brackets tasting event. We’re bringing back the Beer Brackets Final Pour tasting event from 4-6 p.m. on March 23 at the Iowa Taproom. This year’s tasting plans to feature raffle prize giveaways and special guests from the Iowa beer industry. RSVP here.  
• Prizes. We’re giving away a $100, $50 and $25 gift card to the Iowa Taproom and El Bait Shop. Head to DesMoinesRegister.com/BeerBrackets to enter by March 23 to be qualified to win. Must be age 21+ to enter.

Beers were selected by Iowa Taproom experts with assistance from the Register, and most can be found on tap throughout the year at the beer hall's 215 E. Third St. location in Des Moines.
