Intelligent Drinking (Newport, OR) – Rogue is returning a charitable limited release and a portion of its sales goes to the Jack Joyce Scholarship Fund, which was established in honor of the late founder of Rogue Ales & Spirits and to help students attend Oregon State University’s Fermentation Science program. Rogue Hot Tub Scholarship Lager is 5.47% ABV German meets Pacific Northwest lager brewed with Bohemian lager yeast and free-range costal water.
Jam Packed (Charlottesville, VA) – Starr Hill’s new Jam Pack Variety 12-pack has taken things to the next level. Not only is it possibly the first variety pack in the country to feature 16oz cans, it also features one of our favorite wheat ales. Densely unfiltered but still light on the tongue, Starr Hill The Love is a 5.1% ABV German-style Hefeweizen with a fruity aroma and brisk spicy finish.
Now We’re Totally Frucht (Anaheim, CA) – Bruery Terreux has just introduced a new series of fruited Berliner Weisse-style beers that they’ll be releasing from time to time under the Frucht (German for fruit) banner and the first one has just debuted. Frucht: Pineapple, Dragon Fruit, & Prickly Pear is a 4.7% ABV fruited Berliner Weisse-style ale that’s fruity, funky, fun.
Oktoberfest In July (Asheville, NC) – Beginning in late July Hi-Wire Brewing will be releasing an award-winning beer more commonly associated with Oktoberfest season, so get ready to celebrate early and hard. Hi-Wire Zirkusfest is a 6% ABV Oktoberfest lager without the expected heavy finish that sometimes dominates the traditional Märzen style.
Tart Stuff (Weymouth, MA) – Barrel House Z, a small-batch, barrel-aged microbrewery and tap room just south of Boston, has launched its next big beer and this sessionable limited release comes in 4-packs of 16oz cans. Barrel House Z Grove Crush Berliner Weisse is a 5% ABV mixed-fermentation wheat beer made with both traditional ale yeast and lactobacillus culture.
