Memphis brewery to launch product across 7 states
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A new brewery is making its way to Memphis.
Delta Sunshine Brewing, unlike most new breweries, is launching big from the start.
The beer will be for sale in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas on its first day.
"No one out there has done what we're going to do in this industry," cofounder Todd Paden told Memphis Business Journal.
Paden, a Germantown native, and Nate Carter, the other cofounder, will use their background in the food industry to get their products out across the region.
The company is planning a September launch and will initially be brewed by City Brewing Company, which has a facility on Raines Road. They'll begin building their own brewery after their first year of business.
Brewmaster Allison Higi is excited for the company's first three beers: Highway 61 Pilsner, Tollbooth Amber Ale, and Room 414 Pale Ale.
"The styles of beer that we're going to introduce, at first, are going to be easy-drinking, solid beers — beers people want to drink and listen to some awesome music with and have a great time," Higi said in an interview with MBJ.
