Every brewery in America invited to brew fundraiser beer and donate 100% of sales.

Chico, CASierra Nevada  Brewing Co. announced today that the company will brew Resilience Butte County Proud IPA to raise funds for those impacted by the Camp Fire. Sierra Nevada will donate 100 percent of Resilience IPA sales to Camp Fire relief, and is asking every other brewery in the country to brew the beer and do the same.Sierra Nevada Brewing To Brew Resilience IPA for Camp Fire Relief

Sierra Nevada will brew Resilience IPA on Giving Tuesday, November 27. The company has asked other breweries to create their own versions of Resilience on that day and donate 100 percent of the sales to Camp Fire relief. Sierra Nevada is working with hop and malt suppliers to secure ingredient donations to participating breweries nationwide.

“Although Chico and the Sierra Nevada brewery were spared, the Camp Fire has devastated neighboring communities where many of our friends, families and employees live,” said Sierra Nevada founder and owner, Ken Grossman. “This community has supported us for 38 years and we’re going to do everything we can to support them back.”

The Camp Fire, now the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history, started on November 8 in the hills above the brewery’s Chico facility. At the time of this release, the fire had burned 142,000 acres, killed more than 60 people and left hundreds missing, destroyed more than 9,700 homes, and displaced nearly 14 percent of Sierra Nevada’s Chico employees.

Days after the fire, the brewery established the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief fund, which will provide much-needed long-term support for community rebuilding efforts. All donations from Resilience IPA will go to this fund. Additional donations towards this effort can be made here.

Sierra Nevada will release their version of Resilience IPA in early January with limited distribution in cans and on draught.

This 27 Nov 2018 Update from Rogue:

Citizens,

The Rogue Nation is honored to be able to aid and assist our fellow independent breweries and those impacted by the devastating Camp Fire. In an effort to do so, we are joining the collaboration brew day today (Tuesday, November 27) with Sierra Nevada and over 800 other breweries in brewing Resilience IPA. Our Brewmaster John Maier is crafting the beer at our World Headquarters in Newport, Oregon as we speak.

Resilience IPA is a collaboration brew with Sierra Nevada and over 800 other breweries in support of the Butte County community impacted by the Camp Fire.

The destruction from disasters like the Camp Fire can be savage -- we experienced fires in our home state as recently as last year and lost our San Francisco pub to a fire earlier this year. That is why we're proud to take part in Sierra Nevada's efforts to help those affected.

Once the beer is ready, we will release it at our seven pubs in Newport, Portland and Astoria, Oregon and at our Brewhouse in Issaquah, Washington. We invite all our local Rogue Nation citizens to help us drink the beer when we tap it. 100% of the sales will go toward the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund.

From Surly:

The haunting images and rising death toll from California’s Camp Fire are almost too much for anyone to process. The scale of the damage defies comprehension, and the need to assist survivors is immediate and ongoing.

No one understands this more than our friends at Sierra Nevada Brewing, as the Camp Fire happened in their Northern California backyard. Their idea: brew an IPA called Resilience on Giving Tuesday, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. Their follow-up: Ask other breweries to brew Resilience as well, including Surly. We agreed without hesitation, and we’re not alone.

Surly joins Sierra Nevada and hundreds of other breweries in brewing Resilience Butte County Proud IPA on Giving Tuesday. “The camaraderie of the North American craft beer community is talked about a lot, and with good reason,” says Bill Manley, Surly’s Director of Brand Development. “Sierra Nevada put the word out last week, and the response they got from the craft community is honestly staggering. As of Monday, over 800 breweries have volunteered.” (UPDATE: 1000 breweries as of Tuesday afternoon!)

All the breweries are using the same recipe, with raw materials generously donated by our suppliers. Resilience will be available in our Beer Hall in mid-December. All proceeds go to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. (If you’re reading this from afar and looking for a place near you, the full list of participating breweries can be found here.)

If you’d like to donate to the Relief Fund directly or have questions on how the money is being allocated, please visit Golden Valley Bank’s website.

From Night Shift:

Yesterday was Giving Tuesday which meant that it was also the national brew day for Sierra Nevada's Resilience Butte County Proud IPA. This beer is Sierra Nevada's call to action for breweries across the country to support those impacted by the Camp Fire.
When Sierra Nevada shared their mission, we were more than ready to get started. Yesterday, we started the brewing process for their Resilience IPA. This beer will be Sierra Nevada's recipe, packaged and sold in our Taproom.
100% of the sales from the Resilience Butte County Proud IPA will be donated to the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund. Since we have just begun brewing, keep a lookout for more information about this beer, including its release date.
