Welcome to another edition of the Beer of the Week!
As always, the Beer of the Week is originally presented on the Arrowhead Pride Tailgate on 610 Sports Radio as part of my Defense and Beer of the Week segment.
Throughout the year, I’ve tried to pick beers in the region of the Kansas City Chiefs’ opponent for that particular week. Last week we stayed put and picked from the offerings in the Kansas City area, and we’re not deviating from the plan this week.
The Chiefs are knocking on the door of their first AFC Championship victory, and they’re looking to do it against perennial AFC favorites in the Patriots. How sweet would it be to bring home a victory for Kansas City? As sweet as this week’s offering. This week’s Beer of the Week is Torn Label Brewing Co. Monk and Honey!
As the snow is showing no signs of stopping, we’ll be closing after the Chiefs game concludes. However, until then the beer is still flowing and the game will be on! pic.twitter.com/vb2GMNmT0k

A 6% ABV Belgian Table Beer, Milk and Honey is a great beer to scratch the “Belgian” itch without having to commit to giant Tripel or Quadrupel. The local honey used to make this “sessionable trappist” helps complement the earthy, spicy flavors of the Belgian yeast. A hint of floral hops — only 22 IBUs — help balance out the sweetness and make for a supremely drinkable beer.
Torn Label just celebrated their fourth anniversary last Saturday during the Chiefs victory over the Colts in the divisional round of the playoffs, but the inclement weather forced an early closure. However, that means that the brewery has many of their rare offerings still on tap and flowing from this weekend’s festivities. If you’re in the Kansas City area, now’s the time to get out to Torn Label.
If you can, make sure to swing by your local liquor store and scoop up some Torn Label Brewing Co. Monk and Honey this weekend!
Check back here this time next week for the new Beer of the Week!
