GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Happy 2019 beer-lovers.

Founders Brewing Company is kicking off the new year by bringing back a popular brew, Blushing Monk.

Affectionately dubbed the “older sibling” of the Grand Rapids-based brewery’s raspberry-injected Rubaeus, Blushing Monk offers a similar flavor but more intense, slightly larger and more mature taste.

It is the first release of the brewery’s 2019 Limited Series. The beer, which has an alcohol by volume of 9.2 percent, is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain in a nod to the ancient monastic art of brewing.

Beer-lovers can expect fruit-forward ferment aromas and spice esters that combine with an abundance of raspberries for a tart and luscious, raspberry-jam character.

Blushing Monk will be available in all markets on draft and in bottles (4-packs of 12oz bottles) beginning Jan. 4 through March 2019. Price will vary by market.

Established in 1997 by two craft beer enthusiasts, Dave Engbers and Mike Stevens, Founders Brewing Co. ranks among the top 10 largest craft breweries in the U.S. and is one of the fastest growing.
