Martin City Brewing, Shatto Milk Company combine for limited release beer

The Chocolate Milk Stout arrives in time for Valentine’s Day

What happens when you combine one of the top brewers and the premier local dairy provider in Kansas City? Martin City Brewing Company has partnered with Shatto Milk Company to create Brooo, a limited release Chocolate Milk Stout made with 100 percent raw, kosher, organic cacao. “This is a malty, chocolaty beer with a mellow, full-mouthed feel,” Martin City Brewing said in a release. “It’s served in a special Brooo can and offers the perfect ‘box of chocolates’ for your Valentine’s Boo!”Along with the creative concoction, Martin City Brewing and Shatto had some fun with the cans for Brooo.“Everybody knows that bulls like to buck and snort,” the can says. “But the Shatto dairy cows up in Osborn, Missouri, have a whole different way of blowing off steam. “It’s not quite as dramatic, but it does involve loud music and a whole lot of mysterious empty cans in the recycling bins at the dairy in the morning. As for the next day’s milking? The herdsman says those heifers give the term ‘pump ’n’ dump’ a whole new meaning.”Shatto Milk said the beer hits shelves in six-packs across the metro on Jan. 14. The beer will also be available on tap across the metro and at the three Martin City Brewing Company restaurant locations. Shatto Milk said it will not be available at the farm store or via Shatto Home Delivery.
