February is ON and craft breweries are addressing the season with a variety of intriguing cold-weather offerings…And we’ve five new craft beer directions that you might want to chase down.

A Hi-Wire Act (Asheville, NC) – Hi-Wire Brewing is returning something BIG and aggressive which is how we like our beer at this time of year. Ambitiously hopped at an almost unheard of 3.5 pounds per barrel, Hi-Wire Man Eater is an 8.3% ABV Double IPA which effectively marries the Amarillo hop’s spicy aroma with Citra’s classic notes of lemon zest and mandarin orange. Spicy, citrusy and aromatically floral this limited release India Pale Ale also delivers a welcome warming alcohol finish.

Idaho Brewers United Releases United Pils (Boise, ID) – Idaho Brewers United’s (IBU, get it?), first benefit beer, United Pils, is now available on draft throughout Idaho. Featuring Idaho-grown barley and hops, United Pils will help Idaho’s craft brewers guild advocate on behalf of Idaho breweries and the craft beer community. The hoppy lager was brewed at MickDuff’s Brewing in Sandpoint with fellow Idaho brewers and with support from craft beer suppliers.

An Experimental Play (Boulder, CO) – Upslope Brewing just shipped the latest iteration of its annual experimental ale. Brewed originally as part of the brewery’s Limited Release Series, and now available as a year-round, Upslope 2019 Experimental India Pale Ale, is a 6.5% ABV IPA that was brewed this year with Cashmere, Loral and Cascade hops this time around.beer, American Craft Beer’s ‘Almost’ All IPA Beer Alert

Get Kraken (Seattle, WA) – Fremont Brewing recently announced its first new year-round since 2017 and that’s too long to wait…so get Kraken. Boldly brewed with Strata, Mosaic and a touch of Citra hops, Fremont Sky Kraken is a 5.5% ABV Hazy Pale Ale with big ripe melon, juicy citrus, pineapple tones and a monstrous attitude.

Fog Warnings (White Salmon, WA) – Everybody’s Brewing has new 22oz bottle seasonal release that’s foggier than most. Fruity and juicy, but not overly sweet, Foggy Goggles is 6.9% Hazy IPA with pronounced orange sherbet and peach notes and a creamy mouthfeel.
