For whatever reason, beer just doesn't seem as festive as champagne. That doesn't stop people from drinking it on holidays, but this year, Miller High Life is making sure you don't have to choose: For a limited time, the "Champagne of Beers" can be purchased in an actual champagne bottle.
The limited-release bottles rolled out in November, and have as much beer as a standard champagne bottle (750 mL). The necks are wrapped in shiny gold foil and fastened with a wrap showing the Girl in the Moon. The base of the bottle has Miller's tagline, 'The Champagne of Beers,' embossed in raised glass letters and printed on the label.
Miller's fancy bottle can be yours for $3.49, which is far less than any (drinkable) champagne you'll find. They're only in stores through December, and were made in limited supply, so grab a few while you can if you want to drink 'em on New Year's Eve.
This is the first year the bigger bottles are being sold nationwide; last year, Chicago and and Milwaukee got to try them out in a regional test (Miller is based in the latter city), and the year before, Chicago was the only city stocking them.
