Looks like the 2019 calendar is up and there's a few changes. First thing I noticed is there aren't seasonal mix packs anymore, seems to have been replaced by a year round sampler pack. Also don't see any Trip in the Woods, Fresh Hops packs, Southern Gothic, or the Northern Hemisphere bottles. Also don't see BFD, but that never made last years calendar, still hope that one's still around.

Noted additions, Sierraveza year round, a brut IPA as the Jan-Mar seasonal, and the aforementioned sampler pack.

I for one will miss the seasonal sampler packs - I usually picked them up. Glad to see Sierravezza will be available in stand alone packs. That being said, I am pretty excited to try the brut IPA.

FFS Sidecar is still sullying the mixed packs?
Slightly heartened to see Kellerweiss, Porter and Stout at least acknowledged.
That sampler is a bit heavy on PA/IPAs for my tastes. I do want to try a SN Helles though.

I read somewhere that the sampler pack will be 6 beers instead of 4 beers. Looks like SN has it on their site as well for those interested. 3 of the 6 are from their year round beers which is a bit disappointing. Also the box shows an image of Tropical Torpedo while the listed bottle shows Torpedo.

"12 beers, 6 different styles" Well, actually it's 4 IPAs, 1 Pale Ale and 1 Lager. It's more of an IPA variety pack. And if Porter, Stout and Kellerweis don't sell that well, why not put them in some of those mixed packs?

That's too bad. I've been waiting for regular BA Narwhal and BA Bigfoot without the ginger and currants and bullshit. The cocoa coconut was the only great one recently.

Same, but they didn't seem to sell very well around me. I loved Sierraveza and will gladly drink it often. I am interested in the Brut also.

    Agreed.

The words on the site say Tropical Torpedo also. I hope it is Tropical Torpedo, as I don't really care for regular Torpedo.

"A good variety pack hits all the right spots: something light and easy-drinking like our Helles in the Tropics, a spicy and woodsy IPA like Hop Solo, our lush and aromatic Tropical Torpedo IPA, our classic Pale Ale, our cult-favorite Ruthless Rye IPA, and a hint of citrus with Sidecar Orange IPA. Whatever the day--or night--may bring, you're covered with the Sampler."

I couldn't agree more and wonder about this often.

Wish the Stout and Keller came in 12 packs.

    Enjoy

1 minor note: Summerfest is back in 12-packs of cans. Can’t remember how long it’s been (I know last summer they weren’t avail). But inasmuch it’s my favorite summer beer & I like to be mobile with it, I’m glad it’s back in this format.

The Fresh Hop packs were my favorite. I guess it will only get some Bigfoot next year.

In the graphic a total of 14 beers are depicted as year-round beers:
    • The four beers of SNPA, Torpedo, HLT, and Sierraveza in larger format on the top.
    • Another 10 beers in smaller format on the bottom.
Does this difference in representation have any meaning?

    Cheers!

I’m just making a guess here but the beers at the top would be their flagship beers that are going to be brewed regularly and distributed. The 10 beers in the smaller format on the bottom are more of a “rotating, yet available year-round should a distributor want to order them” year round offering. This is largely based on what @SierraTerence has told us on here in the past at certain beers like Stout and Porter are available year-round but often not actually on shelves where people live ...

Just put Kellerweis, with Stout or Porter in a mix pack, with a hoppy beer and maybe Kolsch and I think that would be a nice year round purchase for a lot of people.
It's very frustrating that Kellerweis, Stout and Porter are virtually impossible to find. I've even asked for a case of Stout and was told the distributer couldn't get it around here.

While I would be interested in buying that variety pack it would appear that the description of "a lot of people" would be interested in purchasing is off the mark.

The variety pack that they will be producing in 2019 (i.e., 4 IPAs, 1 Pale Ale and 1 Lager) is what a lot of people want to buy. I suspect it is only a matter to time before Sierra Nevada will be contacted by folks requesting that the Pale Ale and Lager be replaced by two other IPAs.:grimacing:

    Cheers!

Maybe I was projecting quite a bit. SN is one of the few big craft breweries that I believe can keep up with fads and trends while still making proper beer for the stubborn drinkers like me.

Here's another thing/problem. I have never seen Porter, Stout and Kellerweis at any grocery store. Only at craft beer stores. But every other seasonal release and mixed packs are available everywhere. Just odd. Now, if you want Porter or Stout, you have to ask your store to order some or buy if from one of the Sierra Nevada's locations.
