Here are the states with the most craft beer per capita

Colorado is the fifth-highest state for breweries per capita, following Vermont, Montana, Maine and Oregon.

Vermont has 11.5 craft breweries per capita, according to C+R Research, which used data compiled by Boulder-based Brewers Association. Montana and Maine both have 9.6 per capita, Oregon has 8.5 and Colorado has 8.4.

Of those five states, however, Colorado’s breweries have the largest economic impact of $764 per capita. In fact, Colorado has the highest economic impact of any state. Vermont had $667 per capita, Oregon $659, Montana $549 and Maine had $471.

Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama all had the fewest breweries per capita.

Colorado also had the fifth-most pints produced per adult 21 and up. Vermont again took the lead at 151 pints per adult, followed by Delaware with 101, Alaska and Pennsylvania with 96 and Colorado with 91.

The report also found that craft beer in the U.S. has grown significantly: from 1,479 craft breweries in 2007 to 7,082 in 2018. In New Jersey and Kentucky, craft beer grew 43 percent, while Oklahoma grew 39 percent.
