9 winter beer festivals in Indianapolis you don't want to miss

A little snow never kept anyone from a good beer. While most beer festivals happen in the warm-weather months, there are still plenty to be found around Indianapolis this winter.

Here's what is coming.

Good Beers and Ugly Sweaters

5:30 p.m. Dec. 14, Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, 450 W. Ohio St., $15 in advance, $12 for members, $20 at the door (ages 21 and over), indianahistory.org.

Ugly sweaters are still hot. Unbury yours or a find a new one to wear while you explore the Festival of Trees and sample local beers from Taxman Brewing, Bier Brewery, and more.

Conner Prairie Holiday Cheers

6:30 p.m. Dec. 14, Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, $40 (ages 21 and over), connerprairie.org.

An adults-only night on the Prairie complete with hors d’ oeuvres, wine, craft beer and spirits. Participate in historical sausage-making demonstrations and learn about 19th-century holiday traditions.

Samples of wine are served at Conner Prairie's adult-only night called Holiday Cheers.

Sanitarium Release Party

12 p.m. Dec. 16, Bier Brewery, free entry, $20 per bomber or $25 gift box, bierbrewery.com.

OK so it's not exactly a festival, but this is Indiana's most award-winning beer, so you may want to stop by. The beer taps at noon and party starts at 5 p.m. with live music, food and other specialty brews.

Flat12 Seventh Anniversary Beer Fest

12 p.m. Jan. 20, Flat12 Bierwerks, 414 Dorman St., free entry (ages 21 and over), flat12.me.

To celebrate seven years of brewing, Flat 12 will be tapping its rarest and barrel-aged beers, alongide some brand new brews. Hoagies and Hops will offer food specials all day.

Winterfest

3 p.m. Feb. 3, Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion, $40-$80 or $10 designated driver (ages 21 and over), indywinterfest.com.

Celebrate 10 years of Indiana beers at this annual Indiana Brewers’ Guild fundraiser. More than 100 breweries and guests will fill the room with samples of cask ales, specialty beers and more.

Frigid Digits Winter Beer Fest

Feb. 17, Centerpoint Brewing, 1125 E. Brookside Ave. Suite B2, $25-$35 or $10 designated driver (ages 21 and over), frigiddigitsfest.com.

One of Indy’s newest breweries is celebrating its one-year anniversary in a big way – with a beer festival! Local breweries, distilleries and mead and cider makers will be serving up samples. Food trucks will provide the eats.

Indy Pies and Pints

7 p.m. Feb. 23, Ivy Tech Community College Culinary and Conference Center, 2960 N. Meridian St., $30-$40 (tickets go on sale Dec. 15, ages 21 and over), indypiesandpints.com.

Pizza and beer. Need we say more? Sample some of Indy’s best craft breweries and artisanal pizzas. It’s a beer AND pizza festival that benefits Arts for Learning.

“Savor Lebanon” Craft Beer, Wine and Food Festival

Noon Feb. 24, Witham Pavilion and Centennial Hall building at the Boone County Fairgrounds, 1300 100 S., Lebanon, $30-$45 or $10 designated driver (ages 21 and over), savorlebanon.com.

For the second year, grab samples of craft beer, wine, cider and spirits from nearly 20 Indiana breweries, wineries and distilleries.

Indiana Pacers Hops and Hoops

Prior to Indiana Pacers vs. Los Angeles Clippers game March 23, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 125 S. Pennsylvania St., starts at $75 per person (includes ticket to game), (317) 917-2827, more information will be available at pacersgroups.com/hops2018 in January.

Before the Pacers face the Clippers, join this pre-game beer tasting event featuring local breweries. Participants (21 and older) will receive a limited edition Indiana Pacers souvenir tasting glass.
