We love this time of year. The nights get colder and the beers even more robust…And with the nation’s temperatures now cooling, we’ve some BIG buzz-worthy drinking directions that you might want to chase down this weekend.

Saint Hood (Columbus, OH) – BrewDog USA has just released their latest American-made creation and we gotta admit it’s a style that’s too often unfairly forgotten. Medium-bodied and sporting a deep amber hue, 5AM Saint is BrewDog’s drinkable homage to the legendary Amber Ales of the Pacific Northwest…and it’s  hopped to the brink and back.

The Sandman Cometh And Then Some (Denver, CO) – The River North Brewery goes more traditional with their two most recent stout releases. Mr. Sandman is a  deceptively smooth and straightforward, 11.9% ABV Imperial Stout. And Whiskey Barrel Aged Mr. Sandman is a toned variation on the original, that amps things up to 13.2% ABV.

You Say You Want A Revolution (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker has shipped the latest from their Luponic Distortion revolving hop series. It’s not a single beer, but actually an ongoing series of beers that revolves approximately every 90 days.  And the latest, Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion No. 008 is a globetrotting blend of eight hop varieties from Germany, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest.beer, Beer Run – New Winter Seasonals, Amber Ales And Imperial Stouts

A Christmas Ale That Matters (Comstock, MI) – Truthfully most holiday ales suck…They tend, more times than not, to be sweet and naively spiced creations, that make more sense conceptual than they do in a glass. But Bell’s smartly looks to Scotland for its holiday inspiration. Righteously rich and malty Bell’s Christmas Ale is a 7.5% ABV Scotch Ale traditional that gets the holidays just right.

Just Peachy (Covington KY) – Braxton Brewing and SweetWater have teamed up to craft something ‘peachy’ as part of Braxton’s Neighbor Series. Fueled on Rakau and Citra hops to bring out the beer’s peachy flavor,  Braxton Moving to the Country is a fruity 5% ABV Peach Pale Ale that won’t disappoint.
