The good news is that no one got hurt, but that bad news is that the beer lost on California’s Highway was from Firestone Walker.

Here’s the deal…firestone, Firestone Walker 805 Lost To Highway 101

The Californian is reporting that “a semi hauling beer crashed on Highway 101 in central Salinas Wednesday morning, causing no injuries but destroying much of the craft brews it was carrying.”

The truck had been hauling a variety of brews from Firestone Walker Brewing Company, much of which was destroyed in the crash, officers said.

But it was the loss of Firestone Walker’s 805, which is described by the brewery as ‘a light, refreshing blonde ale created for the laid back California lifestyle” that we found particularly haunting…

California’s stretch of Highway 101, the longest highway of its kind in the state, is iconic in so many ways.firestone, Firestone Walker 805 Lost To Highway 101

Spanning California from north to south, and border to border, it remains the stuff of legends …And many find Firestone Walker’s 805 Ale equally evocative.

“I expect that there’s something that Firestone Walker can take away from having lost a true Californian ale like 805 on Highway 101…if only numerically” said brewery spokesperson Sean Weir. And although we’d be surprised to see a major motion picture based on this unfortunate incident … it’s still a kind of a bummer.”

Weir added that from the pictures he’s seen there might have been some Luponic Distortion also lost in Wednesday’s crash….which is borderline tragic as well.
