A new airline, marketed towards millennials, has just launched in France.

Last summer Air France announced they were launching ‘Joon’, their millennial-focussed airline that describes themselves as “punchy, energetic and dynamic”.

While it’s not often an airline is marketed towards a specific generation, travel is high on the list of priorities for many millennials so it’s a smart move.

Price points for European flights will begin at £34, while long-haul journeys will start at £218. Currently, the airline flies to short-haul destinations like Berlin, Porto, Naples and Istanbul, while long-haul locales like Cairo, Brazil, Seychelles and (from May) Mumbai are on the schedule.

Joon has also revealed that passengers can expect to be served free organic coffee on flights along with cocktails created by the Experimental Cocktail Club as well as free French craft beer.

Local French products will also be available in every cabin class, but you will need to pay extra for meals if you are sitting in economy.

Joon are also paving the way in plane technology, offering the option to rent virtual reality headsets to watch movies and TV shows on during the flight.

Surprisingly, the staff’s uniforms are not millennial pink but electric blue and are made from 60 per cent recycled plastic and worn with white trainers - a nod to the athleisure trend.

While Joon currently does not have any UK destinations, let's hope they expand soon.
