People drank a lot of Michigan beer this summer.
For evidence, look no further than numbers released by Untappd, a popular beer tracking app that allows beer-drinkers to "check-in" while enjoying various beverages.
According to Untappd, Michigan-made beer represents four of the top 50 "check-ins" for the summer of 2017. Furthermore, Michigan brews represent two of the top 10, including the top spot overall.
More Untappd users checked in while drinking Founders Brewing Company's All Day IPA than any other beer. Beer drinkers around the world checked in 64,795 times over the course of the summer. That's 6,131 times more than Guinness, which finished in second place.
Bell's Two-Hearted IPA was No. 7 on the list with 48,735 check-ins over the summer. Bell's Oberon Ale (29,143) and Founders' DKML (23,486) also made the list at No. 32 and No. 49, respectively.
Old Nation Brewing Company's Boss Tweed NE DIPA received the highest consensus rating in Michigan for summer 2017. Its average rating is 4.56.
The Williamston-based brewery's double IPA has an alcohol by volume of 9.3 percent.
Data is based on Untappd check-ins between June 21 and Sept. 21 A minimum of 2,000 check-ins during the period were required for consideration.
