Amazon Bar to Pop-Up In Japan

amazon, Amazon Bar to Pop-Up In Japan

Next week Amazon will be opening a bar in Tokyo…and as you might expect, it’s like nothing the world has ever seen before…

According to the company’s website, the cleverly named, Amazon Bar will be a pop-up operation and serve a spectrum of drinks including BEER, wine and whiskey as part of their campaign to promote alcoholic products sold on its website in Japan.

This is the first time that the ecommerce giant has opened a bar, and even though it’s only a pop-up, we predict it won’t be Amazon’s last.

The company which recently acquired Whole Foods is aggressively moving into the food and drink sector. And in addition to adding hi-octane drinks to their online portfolio, have introduced  two-hour beer and wine delivery in several American cities.

Located in Tokyo’s uber-upscale shopping district for a 10 day period, CNBC is reporting that Amazon’s new bar comes with one important distinction…there won’t be a menu.

Yes that’s right…Instead of a menu Amazon, which reportedly launched a mobile app in Japan last year that offers sommelier-curated drink suggestions, will utilize a similar automated system to help customers order drinks based on their own personal preferences.
