Sprucing Things Up (Milton, DE) – Long time collaborators Dogfish Head and Woolrich, went deep into the woods to harvest this cult beer’s key ingredient. Brewed with massive additions of fresh spruce tips from Pennsylvania’s fall forests, Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo is an ENORMOUS 8.5% ABV Pale Ale with pronounced conifer notes and a doughy malt backbone that lets the hops and spruce shine.
Fresh Hop To It (Shiner, TX) – Spoetzl Brewery, home to the legendary Shiner Bock, has a new Brewer’s Pride Series release that’s ‘hop harvest’ seasonal. Brewed with hand-selected Amarillo hops which were harvested at the Crosby Hop Farm in Woodburn, Oregon, and driven over two thousand miles to Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX where they were immediately placed in brew kettles – a 36 hour, non-stop process. Crisp, refreshing and unbelievably fragrant, Shiner Fresh Hop IPA is a 6.8% ABV India Pale Ale with aromatic hints of apricot and peach and subtle grassy, citrusy notes.
Dunkin’ Drinking (Boston/Canton, MA) – Dunkin’ Donuts, who recently dropped the ‘Donut’ part of their name, and Harpoon (who still use Brewery in their name), have collaborated on a bold new way for fans to toast the start of fall. Perfect for pairing with fall favorites like hearty stews, cold weather and of course, Dunkin’s signature donuts, Harpoon Dunkin’ Coffee Porter is a 6% ABV limited release with an uber-smooth mouthfeel and a rich of espresso and dark chocolate aroma.
Ganache You! (Portland, ME) – Allagash Brewing is returning something exotic that was literally inspired by a chocolate cake and it’s coming your way in striking 375mL bottles. The liquid equivalent of biting into a tart, raspberry-filled chocolate cake, Allagash Ganache Tart Raspberry Beer was fermented with Allagash’s special house yeast and Brettanomyces before being aged to perfection on fresh, New England raspberries. Yessssss!
Balancing Act (Hood River, OR) – Oregon’s pFriem Family Brewers has a new fall release that’s a testament to restraint and balance. pFriem Export Lager is a 5.7% ABV seasonal with a subtle malt sweetness that stylistically walks that thin line between the Munich Helles and the Bavarian Pilsner.
